Creating Healthy Habits

Stick With Nutrition PlanYou eat what you want, when you want it.

You exercise when you feel like it.

You look around, and you think, “That’s not me, I’m different

And, the reality is that if you look at the five people closest to you, you are probably just like them…

Same health. Same finances. Same idea of what’s “normal”.

One of the most important things I’ve learned about creating healthy habits is first accepting that health behavior is largely patterned in the subconscious mind.

  • Behavior science shows that we mirror the behaviors of those close to us- especially at a young age.
  • After the age of 5 or 6, it is estimated that 95% of our behavior is subconscious — especially our health behaviors.
  • Once we accept that our behaviors are largely unconscious, we can begin consciously changing our environments piece-by-piece to attract what we want in to our lives.
  • The little control we do have is to control what passively invades our vulnerable brains in the first place — and I’ve found in both my personal life and with clients at the NJ Nutrition Center, that even the smallest steps can yield powerful results!

No, this isn’t the “Law of Attraction”, think of it like child-proofing your brain against negative thoughts & habits.

Despite the powerful role of the subconscious mind, we can still choose to be healthy or choose to be sick, but we can’t choose both.

Here’s how to choose to be well…
