I love receiving letters in my inbox about how nutrition has changed someone’s life for the better. I am honestly amazed every week at the power of nutrition to affect health. I am not a miracle worker. I simply pull together information I have gleaned from the work of giants in research who write the textbooks and conduct the clinical studies that truly drive innovation in healthcare. Again, each case presents with its unique circumstances, it would be careless to claim that I could expect the same results with future clients who present with similar signs and symptoms. Here’s another client’s story…
From Arthritis to Chronic Wellness
I believe I have lived with a “fog” most of my teen to adult life. Not that I felt sick everyday, but I always wondered if my overall energy level and sense of well being could be improved.
I tried diets, vitamins and special drinks that I read about in magazines and on– line or watched on the doctor hosted TV shows. Some certainly helped, but I never stuck with any of them. There were either too many vitamins, costly drinks or impossible diet plans. I also never saw myself as the authority figure in deciding what might be the best plan for me. Just because it was good for those people, how could I be sure it was the optimal plan for me.
In the most recent years, arthritis in my hip and hands limited my range of motion and my life style. I started practicing yoga about 6 years ago, which helped immensely, but when arthritis appeared in my shoulder that was the last straw. I made an appointment with Dr. Rinehart in the hopes that he might be able to provide the nutrition link that I hadn’t fully tapped, even with all my self help exploration.
At our first appointment we went through my health history. He was thorough, interested and fully engaged. I never felt he was trying to rush me out the door and he asked questions that helped him better understand me. It wasn’t a ” one size fits all” appointment.
It’s now been several months since that first appointment and I can truly say that I consistently feel better then I ever have before. The arthritis in my fingers has almost disappeared. I wish I had taken a picture because it has been such a dramatic change. I also lost about 8 lbs. without trying, that was a very unexpected but great outcome.
I can’t begin to thank Dr. Rinehart enough for giving me a life that I didn’t have before. I can honestly say that I’m looking forward to the years ahead, since I continue to feel better month after month as my arthritis improves and my “fog” has been lifted.”
